Editor’s note: If bling is not your thing, substitute pearls or fire-polished beads for the crystals.
Neck straps

1. Cut an 8-in. (20 cm) piece of beading wire, and on one end string a crimp bead and half of the clasp. Go back through the crimp bead, and crimp it. Using chainnose or crimping pliers, close a crimp cover over the crimp. Trim the excess wire.

2. String an 8/0 seed bead and an alternating pattern of a 6 mm pearl and a color C 11/0 seed bead. Continue alternating pearls and Cs until you have 14 pearls and 13 Cs.

3. String an 8/0, a crimp bead, and a 13 mm hammered ring. Go back through the crimp bead and the 8/0, and crimp the crimp bead. Close a crimp cover over the crimp, and trim the excess wire.

4. Make a second neck strap.

Center strands

1. Attach a stop bead to the center of 1 yd. (.9 m) of Fireline.

2. With one end of the thread, pick up 5 1⁄2 in. (14 cm) (approximately 58) color A 3 x 2 mm rondelles, nine color D 11/0 seed beads, and a 13 mm hammered ring attached to one of the neck straps. Skip the last eight Ds, and sew back through the next D and all the As just picked up.

3. Pick up nine Ds and the other 13 mm ring. Skip the last eight Ds, and sew back through the next D and the first few As in the strand. End the working thread.

4. Remove the stop bead, and using the tail, retrace the thread path of the strand. End the tail.

5. Work as in steps 1–4 to add a second center strand, but pick up 6 3⁄4 in. (17.1 cm) (approximately 78) color B 3 x 2 mm rondelles instead of As.

6. Work as in steps 1–4 to add a third center strand, but pick up 8 in. (20 cm) of beads in the following pattern: 4 x 3 mm rondelle, A, B, and A.
