Beaded tea infuser

A gift steeped in charm

Extract the most from your next teatime experience by adding beads to your tea infuser’s chain. Brew for two? Add your favorite loose leaves and a mug for a comforting gift for a frazzled friend.


Infuser with briolette

  • tea infuser, approximately 50mm (World Market,
  • 12 x 20mm briolette
  • 3–5 6mm crystals
  • 1–4 4mm crystals
  • 15–20 6/0 seed beads
  • 4 5mm spacers
  • flexible beading wire,.014 or.015
  • 4 in. (10cm) 24-gauge half-hard wire
  • 2 crimp beads
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters
  • crimping pliers (optional)

Infuser with charm

  • tea infuser, approximately 50mm (World Market, 
  • 3 6mm crystals
  • 20–30mm charm
  • 6 in. (15cm) 24-gauge half-hard wire
  • 2 in. (5cm) chain, 3–4mm links
  • 7–9mm jump ring 
  • chainnose and roundnose 
  • pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters


Infuser with briolette

Step 1
Cut a 4-in. (10cm) piece of 24-gauge wire. String a briolette 1 in. (2.5cm) from one end, and bend the wire upward to form a U shape. Make a wrapped loop with the longer wire, extending wraps around the top of the briolette.

Cut an 8-in. (20cm) piece of beading wire. String a crimp bead and the briolette unit. Go back through the crimp bead, tighten the wire, and crimp the crimp bead

String 3 in. (7.6cm) of crystals, spacers, and 6/0 seed beads. If the tea infuser has a hook attached to its chain, remove it.

Step 4
String a crimp bead and the chain. Go back through the last few beads strung, and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead and trim the excess wire.

Step 1
Cut a 1⁄2-in. (1.3cm) piece of chain. Cut a 2-in. (5cm) piece of 24-gauge wire. Make the first half of a wrapped loop on one end. Attach the chain and complete the wraps. Make three chain units.

Step 2
String a crystal on one wire and make the first half of a wrapped loop. Attach a chain unit and complete the wraps. Repeat.

Step 3
String a crystal on the wire and make the first half of a wrapped loop. Attach an infuser’s hook and complete the wraps.

Step 4
Open a jump ring. Attach a charm and the remaining chain end. Close the jump ring.
