Seasonal necklace and earrings

Choose a breezy pendant and flower beads for summer or fall jewelry

Spend the last days of summer flaunting shells and suntans (safe, fake tans, of course). Show off both with a mother-of-pearl pendant decorated with pale flower beads. For a look that takes you into the fall, substitute a gemstone pendant for the shell.

INSTRUCTIONS

Seasonal necklace 1
Step 1

Step 2
Open the loop of an earring wire. Attach the dangle and close the loop. Make a second earring to match the first.

Step 3
Decide how long you want your necklace to be. Add 8 in. (20 cm) and cut a piece of beading wire to that length. Center 1–2 in. (2.5–5 cm) of 11/0s. Over both ends, string the pendant. Pull the ends through the loop.
Seasonal necklace 4
Step 4
On each end, string a bicone, seven 11/0s, a flower bead, and seven 11/0s. Repeat, alternating flower colors, until the necklace is within 1 in. (2.5 cm) of the finished length. End with 11/0s.
Seasonal necklace 5
Step 5
On each end, string a crimp bead, an 11/0, and half of a clasp. Check the fit, and add or remove beads from each end if necessary. Go back through the last few beads strung and tighten the wire. Crimp the crimp bead and trim the excess wire
