Botanical bracelet and earrings

Whip up a seasonal bracelet and earrings

Intricate leaves flutter on a lightweight charm bracelet and subtle earrings. In your version, dangle fragments of color with beads in summer aquas or autumn browns. Either color combination will harmonize with your nature-inspired design.



  • 8 10–16mm leaf charms
  • 10–12 10–12mm tube or oval beads, in three or four colors 
  • 6 1⁄2–8 in. (16.5–20cm) flat cable   chain, 6–8mm links
  • 10–12 2-in. (5cm) decorative head pins
  • 2 5mm jump rings
  • 8 4mm jump rings
  • toggle clasp
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters


  • 2 10–16mm leaf charms
  • 2 10–12mm tube or oval beads
  • 4 in. (10cm) 24-gauge half-hard wire 
  • pair of earring wires
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

Step 1
1. On a decorative head pin, string a bead. Make the first half of a wrapped loop. Make ten to 12 bead units.

2. Decide how long you want your bracelet to be, and cut a piece of chain to that length. Attach a bead unit to the center link and complete the wraps.

3. Open a jump ring and attach a charm to a link. Close the jump ring. Attach the remaining bead units and charms to different links.

4. Check the fit, allowing 1 in. (2.5cm) for finishing. Trim links if necessary. On each end, use a jump ring to attach half of a clasp.

1. Cut a 2-in. (5cm) piece of wire. Make the first half of a wrapped loop on one end. Attach a charm and complete the wraps.

2. String a bead. Make a wrapped loop perpendicular to the first loop.

3. Open the loop of an earring wire and attach the dangle. Close the loop. Make a second earring to match the first.
