Autumn in Venice

Accent a Venetian bead necklace with filigrees and pearls

I’ve always had a soft spot for Venetian glass. Even in the most modern of designs you can sense the lush history behind the beads. This design pairs the colorful glass with the romance of filigrees and pearls, and the warm, rosy palette is perfect for fall.

Step 5
On each end, string 12 mm, 10 mm, 8 mm, and 6 mm pearls and filigree beads in descending sizes. String 4 mm pearls until each strand is within 1 in. (2.5 cm) of the finished length, then string a crimp bead. On each side, over both ends, string a jump ring. Check the fit and remove beads if necessary. Go back through the beads just strung, tighten the wire, and crimp the crimp bead. On one end, open a jump ring. Attach a clasp and close the jump ring.
