Diamond-shaped link components are a simple starting point for elegant crystal earrings. Select your crystals from the same color family and attach them to the earring component in gradually deeper shades. The monochromatic color scheme adds versatility to the finished earrings.

Supply List

  • 2 19 x 30mm diamond-shaped link components
  • 2 6 x 9mm crystal drops
  • 18 4mm bicone crystals, 6 in color A, 6 in color B, 6 in color C
  • 2 2-in. (5cm) 24-gauge decorative head pins
  • 18 1 1⁄2-in. (3.8cm) 24-gauge head pins
  • 2 6.4mm oval jump rings
  • pair of earring wires
  • chainnose and roundnose pliers
  • diagonal wire cutters

  • The gray earrings have Swarovski crystals in black diamond, morion, and jet.
  • The brown earrings have Swarovski crystals in light Colorado topaz, light smoked topaz, smoked topaz, and burgundy.

1. On a head pin, string a bicone crystal. Make the first half of a wrapped loop. Repeat with the remaining bicone crystals.

2. On a decorative head pin, string a crystal drop. Make a wrapped loop.

3. On a diamond-shaped link component, beginning on the far left loop, attach the bicone units as follows: color A, color B, color C. Repeat the pattern twice. Complete the wraps as you attach each bicone unit.

4. Open a jump ring. Attach the crystal-drop unit and the top loop of the link component. Close the jump ring.

5. Open the loop of an earring wire. Attach the dangle and close the loop. Make a second earring in the mirror image of the first.
