Incorporate turtles and house geckos into a loomwork wall hanging.
hero

I’m surrounded by many exotic animals when I go to my public relations job at the San Antonio Zoo. I like to incorporate my favorite creatures into my beadwork.

My wall hanging measures 14½ x 8 in. (36.8 x 20 cm) and features turtles and house geckos in their water habitat. I worked each of the five 7 x 2½-in. (18 x 6.4 cm) panels on a loom. I stitched the divider sections using square stitch and attached them to the side edges of each panel. The beaded strips on the end of the divider sections are long enough to fit around the wooden dowel I used to hang the beadwork. I embellished the end of the dividers with unique wooden and ceramic beads.
