Scottie and Westie bracelet

What better way to celebrate the life of a beloved dog than with this Scottie and Westie pattern?

I designed this bracelet after a friend’s beloved Westie, Tink, passed away. I included both an Aberdeen Terrier (black) and the West Highland White Terrier because I never think of one without the other. I also wanted to incorporate a plaid background to represent the Scottish heritage of this breed of dog.

The pattern is worked in flat even-count peyote stitch with 11/0 cylinder beads. After finishing the pattern, work in flat odd-count peyote stitch to continue each horizontal stripe for six rows, creating tabs for the closure. I finished the closure with three silver Scottie dog charms on one end and loops of 15/0 seed beads on the other end. My finished bracelet measures 6 1⁄2 x 1 1⁄2 in. (16.5 x 3.8 cm).
