Unique two-hole beads are the centerpiece for this fun, flowery bracelet

Flowered chexx bead bracelet

This bracelet can be made quickly with two-hole Chexx beads and a pretty palatte that helps make the transition from summer to fall a snap.

 

Materials

Gold bracelet 8 1/2 in. (21.6 cm)

  • 56 6 x 6 mm Chexx two-hole beads (16 crystal, 16 turquoise, 16 purple luminous, 8 chalk bronze lumi)
  • 7 6 mm glass pearls (dark brown)
  • 4 g 6/0 seed beads (Miyuki 4205, Duracoat galvanized zest)
  • 4 g 8/0 seed beads (Miyuki 4205, Duracoat galvanized zest)
  • 12 15/0 seed beads (Miyuki 4205, Duracoat galvanized zest)
  • 10 mm magnetic clasp
  • Fireline 6 lb. test
  • beading needles, #10

Bronze bracelet colors:

  • 6 x 6 mm Chexx two-hole beads (black, silver, turquoise)
  • 6/0 seed beads (Miyuki 457, metallic dark bronze)
  • 8/0 seed beads (Miyuki 462, metallic gold iris)
  • 15/0 seed beads (Miyuki 462, metallic gold iris)

 

Instructions

1. On 1 yd. (.9 m) of thread, pick up eight 6 x 6 mm Chexx two-hole beads. Sew through all the beads twice to form a ring, leaving a 6-in. (15 cm) tail (Photo A). Tie a square knot with the working thread and tail.

 

2. Pick up a 6 mm pearl, center the pearl in the middle, skip four Chexx beads, and sew under the thread bridge between the fourth and fifth beads (Photo B). Sew back through the pearl, and pull the working thread tight to center the pearl in the ring.

3. Sew around the thread bridge where your tail is exiting and back through the pearl. Sew through the open hole of the next Chexx bead (Photo C).

 

4. Keeping a consistent tension, pick up a 6/0 seed bead, and sew through the open hole of the next Chexx bead (Photo D). Repeat this stitch to complete the round. End with your thread exiting the first Chexx bead and 6/0 (Photo E).

5. Pick up three 8/0 seed beads, and sew through the next 6/0 to form a picot (Photo F). Repeat this stitch to complete the round. End the working thread and tail.

 

6. Repeat steps 1-5 to make six additional flowers. Do not end the working thread on the final flower.

 

Bracelet assembly

1. With the working thread from the final flower, sew through the next two 8/0s.

 

2. Pick up an 8/0, and sew through the center 80 in a picot on another flower (Photo G). Pick up an 80, and sew back through the 8/0 your thread exited at the start of this step (Photo H). Retrace the thread path to reinforce the join. Sew through the outer edge of the first flower, and exit the center 80 in a picot on the opposite side.

3. Work as in step 2 to attach all of the flowers. On the final flower, continue to sew through the outer edge to reach the center 8/0 in the picot on the opposite side.

 

4. Pick up an 8/0, half of the clasp, and an 8/0, and sew through the same 8/0 your thread exited at the start of this step (Photo I).

5. Pick up a 15/0 seed bead, and sew through the next 8/0 in the loop. Pick up two 15/0s, and sew through the clasp (Photo J). Pick up two 15/0s, and sew through the next 8/0. Pick up a 15/0, and sew through the same 8/0 your thread exited at the start of this step (Photo K). Retrace the thread path, and end the working thread.

 

6. Add 10 in. (25 cm) of thread to the opposite end of the bracelet, and repeat steps 4 and 5 to attach the other half of the clasp.
