1. Make a pair of earring wires.

2. To make a leaf shape, cut a 2 3⁄4-in. (7 cm) piece of 18-gauge wire. Mark the center of the wire with a fine-tip marker. Wrap the wire around an object with a 3⁄4-in. (1.9 cm) diameter.

Using chainnose pliers, grasp the wire to one side of the center mark. Push the wire toward the other half of the circle. Repeat on the other side of the center mark.

Using roundnose pliers, make a loop at each end of the wire, rolling the loops away from each other.

Reshape the wire so the loops overlap and are aligned. Grasp the center of the sides and pull the sides apart slightly to widen the leaf. Repeat to make a second leaf shape.

3. To make a leaf vein, cut a 7⁄8-in. (2.2 cm) piece of 20-gauge wire. Bend the center of the wire around a pen to give it a slight curve. Using the tip of your roundnose pliers, make a small loop on each end in the opposite direction of the center bend. Repeat to make a second leaf vein.

5. To make a dangle, cut a 2-in. (5 cm) piece of 24-gauge wire. Make a bend 3⁄8 in. (1 cm) from one end. Using the tips of your roundnose pliers, make one loop, then continue turning until you’ve reached the bend. String a crystal on the wire. Make a plain loop above the bead, but don’t trim the tail. Instead, coil the wire around the top of the crystal like a bead cap. Repeat to make another dangle.

7. Open a jump ring. Place the leaf vein’s remaining loop between the loops of a leaf shape, and thread the jump ring through the three loops. Close the jump ring.

8. Open a jump ring, thread it through the jump ring added in step 7 and the loop of your earring wire. Close the jump ring.

9. Repeat steps 6–8 to assemble a second earring in the mirror image of the first.
