For my part, I've been doing a lot of kumihimo lately, as we're working on a special issue coming out this spring. On my bead mat today is Sheilah Cleary's "Twist, countertwist" braid, which will be in the issue. I'm almost done with my test version, for which I used a lampwork bead by the incomparable Jeff Barber – I just have to finish the ends. And I have to tell you – while this necklace may look complicated, it is actually a pretty fast and fun technique and I can't wait to do some more experiments with it. I'm really excited about this special issue. If you have any interest in kumihimo at all, you're definitely going to want this volume!

Finally, I can't forget – the April issue of Bead&Button is available on newsstands today! It's packed with great projects and information and is your perfect companion for National Craft Month.

Enjoy National Craft Month with beading!
