Up and Coming designer at the Bead&Button Show

cary bruner

Although it doesn’t feel like it, June will be here before you know it. Here at Kalmbach Publishing, June is synonymous with the Bead&Button Show. Class registration opened up a few weeks ago, and I’m so excited for this year’s line up.

I wanted to give a shout out in regards to a frequent contributor to Bead&Button magazine. Her name is Cary Bruner, and she is a first time teacher this year at the Show.

Cary teaches and works full-time at Bead Haven in Las Vegas. Her designs always intrigue me and include clever steps that make me ponder how she came up with that idea. To refresh your memory, her Spinning in orbit necklace graced the cover of the October 2015 issue of Bead&Button.

Check out her Sweet expressions beaded bead that is featured in the February 2016 issue of Bead&Button.

If you are curious, you can read more about Cary from her Bio on the Bead&Button Show website and make sure to check out the eight classes she is teaching this year at the show. We are thrilled that she has decided to come and teach this year. Stay tuned as she will have future projects published in upcoming issues of Bead&Button, and she also is getting ready to start on a new beading book to be published by Kalmbach. In addition, you can see more of her projects that have appeared in Bead&Button here.

SAVE THE DATE: The planning committee is working on the bead social titled Big Bead & Jewelry Bash  (sponsored by Rio Grande) for Saturday night, June 11, at the Bead&Button Show. This is a newly structured event for the Show, and it will have something for everyone to enjoy. The $10 admission includes coffee and cake, fun jewelry- and bead-related games and activities, plus a cash bar, and many, many door prizes. Stay tuned for future details and mark your calendars! Tickets are available to purchase now for this fun event.
